We honour Fela Kuti’s soul by integrating his heritage into music that is energetic and purposeful. Beyond the music, Gunju is a recording and performance artist globally as Percussionist with House music genre which includes at least two Grammy award winning DJ’s since 2001. ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

The founder of GUNJU, Prince Oluwaseyi Paul Olagunju is a royal from Offa, Kwara State. Born in the UK however brought up in Benin City where he was introduced to drumming at the age of 9 in Celestial Church of Christ.

Upon return to the UK after his university education as an Optometrist he on wandering into a House music club in London he offered to play the drums present there to the DJ’s set. There was the restart of his musical career. Within a few years he was playing percussion alongside reputable Dj’s globally to include two Grammy Award winning DJ’s. He then started producing tracks and became one of the pioneers of Afrohouse music globally. In 2013 following his idol Fela Kuti, Prince Olagunju went back to university, SOAS, University of London to study Music and African studies.

Currently, he is intent on introducing a new musical phenomenon incorporating our local languages and instruments and about our West African history, culture and current affairs into electronic House music.
According to him, Lagos and Nigeria is abound with potential talent. He is particularly interested in aspiring artists that play musical instruments. There are Fashion and Literature components to his Afropean culture.
